报告题目:Neutral hydrogen intensity mapping with MeerKAT
报告摘要:
Neutral hydrogen (HI) intensity mapping promises to be an exquisite way of mapping the large-scale structure of the Universe. The technique relies on measuring the integrated intensity of HI 21-cm emission on each pixel on the sky without actually resolving any galaxies. With the full array of 64 dishes, MeerKAT should be able to measure the distribution of hydrogen on very large scales if used in single-dish mode (instead of cross-correlating the dishes). This will allow probing of several cosmological parameters, such as the nature of dark energy. In this talk, I will briefly introduce the background of the MeerKLASS project and current progress, including the pilot survey, data calibration pipeline, signal detection strategy, and some troubles that radio cosmology observations are facing.
