Title: The Study Of Molecular Hydrogen
Abstract:Rotational emission line of molecular hydrogen have been detected in a wide array of sources, lying in the mid-infared range between 5 and 30 micron. Roussel et al.2007 found in star-forming galaxies, the H2 line intensities scale tightly with the aromatic band emission which is consistent with excitation in PDRs, but a dominant contribution from shock heating is favored in LINER/Serfert. However, Zakamska concluded the origin of warm H2 in outflows from ULIRGs is all from the shock. And J.D.T.Smith even found a new method to light the dark molecular hydrogen becoming a direct tracer of star formation. In this talk, I will review the study of molecular hydrogen with the mid-infrared emission.
